Dr. Robert Maganini is 100% focused on the comprehensive management of breast disease including: benign breast disease; image guided core needle biopsy; contemporary, less invasive surgical treatment of benign and malignant breast disease; breast cancer risk assessment, risk reduction and hereditary cancer genetic testing; and actively promotes the multi-disciplinary, team approach to care for people with breast cancer.
Dr. Maganini received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1982. He then received his medical degree in 1986 from the Rush Medical College of Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his Surgical Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Maganini has been in surgical practice in suburban Chicago since 1991. He is currently affiliated with Ascension Illinois at Ascension St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, IL.
Dr. Maganini traveled to Bolivia in 1995 on a medical mission. He has served as President of the DuPage Regional Board of the American Cancer Society, on the Susan G. Komen Chicagoland Area Affiliate Board, as a board member for the Tri City Health Partnership, a free medical clinic, and on the Board of the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force. Dr. Maganini is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Dr. Maganini feels that for women with breast problems or breast cancer, a thorough understanding of the diagnosis and treatment, is essential to reducing anxiety. He always personally educates his patients and is responsive to their questions and needs. He gives his patients thorough explanations of the disease process, surgery and what to expect after a procedure. His patients appreciate the time he spends with them. He speaks Spanish and wishes he could speak Polish and Gujarati.
Dr. Maganini has had many blessings over a long career. He has a wonderful family, enjoys cycling, snowboarding, and is a data nerd. He has bicycled a few thousand miles in support of charities such as Susan G. Komen, the American Brain Tumor Assoc., and Cal’s Angels.
